Citroen India has unveiled its latest offering, the compact SUV C3 Aircross, to compete with other players in the Indian market like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The compact SUV market in India is highly competitive, and Citroen aims to take advantage of this with their new product.
Citroen’s focus on the Indian market has been increasing over the past year. The French automaker has introduced three new products in the Indian market, including the C3 hatchback, E-C3 electric hatchback, and the compact SUV C3 Aircross. The latter was developed and designed specifically for the Indian market and tested under extreme conditions in Rajasthan.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Features
The C3 Aircross SUV has three rows of seating, roof-mounted quad rear AC vents in the 5+2 seater version, dual-tone paint scheme, split headlamps, vertical air vents, 4-spoke alloy wheels, two seating options- 5 & 5+2 with 70:30 split-folding rear seats, dual-tone interiors, a floating 10-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, hill-start assist (HSA) as standard, flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, 5 quick charging USB sockets, adjustable rear headrests, rear armrest with cupholders, single driver armrest integrated into the front seat, roof rails, and My Citroen connect app with 35 smart connect features.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Specifications
Citroen has not yet revealed all specifications of the car, but the company has disclosed that the C3 Aircross will be equipped with a turbocharged petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. The 5+2 seater variant will have 511 liters of boot space with third-row seats removed, and the 5 seater variant will have 444 liters of boot space. It will measure 4.3 meters in length, 1796 mm in width and stands 1654 mm tall. It will have a wheelbase of 2671 mm, a ground clearance of 200 mm and will sport 215/60 R17 tyres.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Design
The Head of Design for Citroen, Pierre Leclercq, said, “All-New C3 Aircross is a full and pure SUV with all of the assertive Citroën DNA and bold SUV design cues that make it stand out from the crowd – which is exactly what families in these markets have told us they want.” The suspension of the C3 Aircross has been designed to suit the Indian road conditions.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Launch Details
Citroen India has not yet disclosed the booking or launch date for the C3 Aircross. However, the company has confirmed that the C3 Aircross will be available in both 5- and 7-seater options and will be launched in the second half of 2023. The car will be exported to select global markets as well.
Citroen’s new offering, the C3 Aircross, has been developed and designed specifically for the Indian market. The company has focused on key aspects like seating capacity, spacious boot space, and features like a floating infotainment system, quick-charging USB sockets, and My Citroen connect app to attract customers. The compact SUV market in India is highly competitive, but Citroen aims to make its mark with this product. With the launch slated for later this year, customers can expect a powerful and feature-packed offering from Citroen.
