The second half of 2023 promises to be a thrilling period for car enthusiasts with a lineup of exciting car launches in India. The midsize SUV segment is getting a significant boost with some major players introducing their latest offerings. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming car launches, from facelifts to all-new models.
Kia Seltos Facelift Debut – July 4

Kia is all set to give its popular midsize SUV, the Seltos, a refreshing facelift. The facelift, already available globally since June 2022, will finally debut in India this month. The much-anticipated update brings forth cosmetic and feature upgrades, along with a new powertrain option.
The Seltos facelift boasts a majorly revised front fascia and rear end, providing a fresh and contemporary look. Inside, there’s an all-new interior featuring twin connected infotainment screens, ensuring a modern and tech-savvy driving experience. An exciting addition to the equipment list is the ADAS suite, enhancing safety and driver assistance.
Under the hood, the 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the previous model will continue to power the Seltos. Additionally, the new 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine borrowed from the Verna and Carens will also make its debut in this refreshed SUV.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto Launch – July 5

Maruti is set to make an entry into the premium MPV segment with its flagship model, the Invicto. Based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Invicto will take a hybrid-only approach, featuring the powerful 183hp, 2.0-litre petrol hybrid powertrain.
While the exterior changes are minimal, the interior will retain its familiar design with some fresh colors for the trim and upholstery. To ensure a competitive price, Maruti may skip some high-end features like the ADAS suite.
Hyundai Exter Launch – July 10

Hyundai is all set to launch its smallest and most affordable SUV in India – the Exter. Positioned to rival the Tata Punch and Citroen C3, the Exter brings typical SUV styling attributes, including an upright and boxy stance and prominent body cladding.
The interior design will be carried over from the Grand i10 Nios and Aura models, but it will feature a unique all-digital instrument cluster and a dashcam. Powertrain options will include an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine with manual and AMT gearboxes, as well as a factory-fitted CNG kit with the same engine.
Second-Generation Mercedes-Benz GLC

Mercedes is gearing up to launch the second-generation GLC in India this month. While the specific date is yet to be confirmed, bookings are already underway for the GLC with a token amount of Rs 50,000.
The new GLC is larger, boasting a more luxurious and tech-oriented interior. The styling is an evolution of the outgoing model, featuring smoother lines and new detailing. Inside, the two screens dominate the space – a 12.3-inch unit for the instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen for infotainment, similar to the new C-class.
More Exciting SUVs to Follow
And that’s not all! The months ahead will witness a plethora of SUV launches. In the midsize SUV segment, two new entrants are set to make their mark – the Honda Elevate and the Citroen C3 Aircross. Tata Motors has major updates lined up for its three SUVs – the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. Furthermore, later this year, we can expect the arrival of the Force Gurkha 5-door and the Punch CNG.
Exciting times lie ahead for the Indian automotive market as these new models bring fresh design elements, advanced features, and enhanced performance to satisfy the growing demands of discerning car buyers. Stay tuned for more updates as these launches draw nearer!
