Honda Cars India is set to introduce a new midsize SUV in 2023, and it’s been officially confirmed that it will be called the Honda Elevate. The Elevate is a five-seater vehicle that will compete in the highly competitive midsize SUV market, taking on popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, VW Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
In this article, we'll explore what we know so far about the Honda Elevate, including its expected features, design, and performance.
Design and Features of the Honda Elevate
The Honda Elevate is expected to be around 4.3 metres long and will use the same platform as the fifth-generation City midsize sedan. It will feature an upright grille section with sharp headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lights, chrome surrounds, a muscular bonnet, a wide air inlet, tall pillars, and wraparound LED tail lamps resembling the WR-V.
Inside, the Honda Elevate will be equipped with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an all-digital instrument console, cruise control, automatic climate control, six airbags, steering wheel-mounted controls, and more.
Additionally, the Elevate is expected to offer advanced driver-assistive and safety technologies, including autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

Performance and Engine Options
Under the hood, the Honda Elevate will feature a 1.5L NA four-cylinder petrol engine borrowed from the City, paired with a five-speed MT or a CVT. A 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine is also expected to join the lineup later, which will compete directly against the strong hybrid versions of the Grand Vitara and Hyryder.
According to reports, the Honda Elevate is expected to boast a new electronic architecture and is expected to be more premium than the existing City.
Price and Launch Date
The Honda Elevate will be launched later this year, and the global debut is scheduled for June 6, 2023, in New Delhi. While there is no official announcement on pricing yet, it’s expected to range from Rs. 11.5 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom).

Final Thoughts
With the introduction of the Honda Elevate, the Japanese carmaker is poised to make a significant impact on the midsize SUV market in India. With its advanced features, stylish design, and competitive pricing, the Honda Elevate is sure to give other popular models in the segment a run for their money.
