Hyundai Exter SUV: Exterior Design Officially Revealed

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has recently revealed the design of its upcoming micro-SUV, the Exter. The Exter draws inspiration from outdoor, travel, and urban lifestyles, presenting a modern take on the Hyundai SUV life. The front of the Exter bears a greater resemblance to the Ioniq 5 than any of Hyundai’s conventional SUVs.

Hyundai Exter Design

The Exter’s recently released image depicts a micro-SUV design reminiscent of Hyundai’s international SUV Casper, albeit with a new front fascia. The revamped front design includes H-shaped LED DRLs and a parametric grille that accommodates circular headlamps. Additionally, the design boasts robust fender arches with distinct shoulder lines, blacked-out A-pillars, and roof rails. Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., expressed his excitement in unveiling the Exter’s dynamic and provocative design. He believes that the Exter’s Parametric Dynamism will resonate with young Gen Z customers who aspire to own a stylish and modern SUV.

Hyundai Exter Features

The Exter is slated to debut with petrol-only options in July 2023, with the possibility of adding CNG variants later. The vehicle is intended for the Indian market and will also be exported overseas. It is expected to have a length of approximately 3.8 meters and will share its platform with the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. The SUV-inspired design will feature faux cladding around the wheel arches to enhance its rugged look. Although the rear of the micro-SUV has not been revealed by Hyundai, it is anticipated to have square-shaped tail-lights that will likely be connected by a light bar.

Hyundai Exter Rivals

The Exter is expected to rival the likes of Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, and Citroen C3. Hyundai will position the Exter below the Venue, and it will be their new entry-level SUV in the Indian market, looking to target the new age buyers with this upcoming product.

Hyundai Exter: Final Thoughts

Hyundai Exter is coming soon to fuel your wanderlust with its seamless amalgamation of Hyundai’s SUV DNA and Global Design Identity of Sensuous Sportiness. With its dynamic and evocative design and young Gen Z customers in mind, it aims to be a crucial addition to the company’s SUV lineup. The Exter will certainly bring some unique features to the segment, and with its expected launch in August, we cannot wait to see it on the roads.
