Kia EV9 GT High Performance Electric SUV in Works, Expected to Launch Soon
After its debut at the Auto Expo 2023, Kia has finally unveiled the highly anticipated all-electric SUV, the EV9, to the public. With its remarkable design, advanced technology, and impressive features, this premium Kia electric SUV has captured the attention of many. Building on this success, Kia has now announced plans to introduce a high-performance version, the EV9 GT. Set to deliver significant performance enhancements compared to the base model, the EV9 GT is on the horizon.
Kia is staying true to its promise of offering exceptional performance vehicles, following the success of the EV6 GT. Kia CEO and President Ho Sung Son has revealed that the EV9 GT is scheduled for release in early 2025. While specific details about the drivetrain are limited, it is known that the EV9 GT will incorporate electric motors on each axle.
Exploring the Kia EV9: Exterior & Interior

The Kia EV9 boasts a distinctive exterior design, featuring the brand’s patented Digital Tiger Face, which sets it apart from the crowd. This unique design element includes the Digital Pattern Lighting Grille and vertical headlights, adding a touch of elegance to the SUV’s appearance. The Digital Tiger Face is further accentuated by the inclusion of ‘Star Map’ LED DRL and two clusters of small cube lights, one on each side of the headlights.

Inside the EV9, you’ll find a spacious cabin with an impressive dashboard that incorporates two screens. This attention to detail emphasizes the car’s ample interior space. The Kia EV9 offers three seating arrangements, providing flexibility for six or seven passengers. However, the standout feature is the swivel seats in the second row, which can rotate a full 180 degrees to face the passengers in the third row. Furthermore, the interior materials of the EV9 are eco-friendly, as Kia has chosen to use sustainable resources such as corn, sugar cane, olive oil, and other bio-based compounds, eliminating the use of leather.

Highlighting Kia EV9's Noteworthy Features
The EV9 GT-line comes equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing the safety and convenience of driving. One of the standout features of the ADAS system is the highway driving pilot, which enables hands-free driving on the roads. With Level 3 automatic driving capabilities, the ADAS system takes the driving experience to the next level. The system relies on a comprehensive array of 15 sensors, including radar, 360-degree cameras, and two lidars, to ensure optimal performance.

Under the Hood: Mechanical Details of the Kia EV9
The baseline model of the EV9 is powered by a rear-wheel-drive configuration, utilizing a motor that generates 215bhp. It is equipped with a 76.1kWh battery pack, ensuring an efficient and reliable driving experience. For those seeking even more power, an optional 99.8kWh battery pack is available, which can support either a single motor generating 201bhp or an all-wheel-drive setup producing an impressive 379bhp and 700Nm of torque.

The Future of Performance Electric SUVs
The Kia EV9 GT is poised to set a new benchmark for high-performance electric SUVs. Building upon the success of the base model, the EV9 GT promises an exhilarating driving experience with enhanced performance features. With its striking exterior design, spacious and eco-friendly interior, advanced ADAS system, and powerful drivetrain options, the EV9 GT represents Kia’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge electric vehicles.
