Unveiling the Kia Sonet Facelift – Explore ADDAS and Beyond!

Unveiling-the-Kia-Sonet-Facelift

The highly anticipated Kia Sonet facelift is poised to make a groundbreaking entrance into the compact SUV market, setting itself apart as the second SUV in its segment to feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The official unveiling is scheduled for December 14, 2023, with pricing details set to be announced in January 2024.

Design Teasers and Interior Upgrades

A teaser video provides a sneak peek into the Sonet facelift’s design, showcasing new LED headlights reminiscent of the Seltos model. The headlights are elegantly framed by cutting-edge LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and a redesigned front bumper integrates horizontally-mounted fog lights below the air intakes.

Inside, the cabin retains its familiar layout, highlighted by a centrally-mounted 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Notably, a new small screen appears below the main display, presenting climate control details and a row of toggles for system control. The teaser hints at an upgraded digital instrument cluster, akin to the one found in the recently launched Seltos facelift. Additionally, the introduction of new brown upholstery for seats and a rear seat armrest adds a touch of luxury. The top-spec variants will continue to feature the acclaimed Bose music system.

Safety Features and Autonomous Driving Assistance

One of the standout features of the Sonet facelift is its adoption of Level 1 ADAS, aligning it with its sibling and rival, the Hyundai Venue. This advanced system includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning, forward collision avoidance assistance, high beam assist, lane-keeping assist, and more. Standard safety measures across all trims include six airbags, while higher trims elevate the safety quotient with a rear camera, cornering lamps, hill-start assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Consistent Powertrain Excellence

Kia remains consistent in its powertrain offerings, retaining the engine options from the pre-facelift Sonet. The lineup includes an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a robust 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options encompass the 6-speed iMT for turbo-petrol and diesel variants, with the potential return of the Sonet diesel-manual. Additionally, the turbo-petrol and diesel engines offer choices of a 7-speed dual-clutch and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, respectively.

Anticipated Pricing and Market Competition

While specific pricing details are yet to be unveiled, it is anticipated that the Sonet facelift’s prices will surpass the current model’s Rs 7.79-14.89 lakh ex-showroom range. Positioned as a formidable competitor in the compact SUV segment, the Sonet facelift will continue to challenge rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and other contenders.

As the countdown to the official reveal continues, the Kia Sonet facelift emerges as a technological marvel, promising an unparalleled driving experience in the ever-evolving world of compact SUVs. Stay tuned for the transformative journey ahead.
