Mahindra Celebrates 9 Lakh Production Milestone with Scorpio N Anniversary

Mahindra & Mahindra recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of its widely praised Scorpio N at the Chakan production facility. The occasion was made even more special as the esteemed automaker reached a significant production milestone of nine lakh Scorpio vehicles. Amongst the impressive lineup, the 9,00,000th Scorpio to roll off the production lines was the captivating Scorpio N in a sleek black color. The event witnessed the presence of Mahindra’s top executives, adding to the grandeur of the celebration.

A Legacy of Success

Since its inception in June 2002, the Scorpio has been a consistent bestseller for the Mahindra brand, spanning over two decades. The SUV’s enduring popularity is evident in its continued sales success, with the previous iteration, known as the Scorpio Classic, still available in the market. This mildly updated version continues to achieve commendable sales figures month after month. However, it was just over a year ago that the Scorpio series underwent a significant transformation, introducing an array of exciting updates.

The New and Improved Scorpio N

The Mahindra Scorpio N arrived on the scene with great anticipation, boasting a comprehensive overhaul of both its exterior and interior. It surpassed expectations, delivering on the promises made during the pre-launch hype. The SUV currently offers a wide range of variants, with prices ranging from Rs. 13.05 lakh to Rs. 24.52 lakh (ex-showroom).

Power and Performance

Under the hood, the Scorpio N offers two robust engine options. The first is a 2.0-liter petrol engine, known as the mStallion four-cylinder turbocharged powertrain. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, it generates an impressive maximum power output of 200 PS and a peak torque of 370 Nm. When mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, the torque output increases to 380 Nm.

The second engine choice is a 2.2-liter four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine, available in two different tunes. The entry-level trims produce 132 PS of power and 300 Nm of peak torque, exclusively paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. As we move up the range, the powertrain delivers 175 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque when paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The top-spec automatic models offer the same power output but with an enhanced torque of 400 Nm when connected to a six-speed automatic unit.

Feature-Rich and Technology-Driven

The Mahindra Scorpio N is not just about performance; it also offers an impressive range of features and cutting-edge technology. The equipment list is extensive, ensuring a delightful driving experience for both the driver and passengers. Some notable features include:

1. 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
2. In-car connected technology
3. Built-in Alexa integration
4. 12-speaker Sony audio system
5. Large MID (Multi-Information Display)
6. Adjustable headrests
7. Two-tone interior theme
8. Premium brown leatherette seats
9. Six airbags for enhanced safety
10. Cruise control for a comfortable drive
11. Electric sunroof for an open-air experience
12. Multiple drive modes for varied driving preferences
13. Wireless charger for convenient device charging
14. And much more.

As Mahindra celebrates the remarkable milestone of producing nine lakh Scorpio vehicles and the first anniversary of the Scorpio N, the brand solidifies its position as a leader in the SUV segment. The Scorpio N’s success can be attributed to its captivating design, powerful performance, and a plethora of advanced features. With its rich legacy and continuous innovation, the Mahindra Scorpio series promises to captivate SUV enthusiasts for years to come.
