Maruti Suzuki Invicto Design Revealed in Spy Shots

The eagerly awaited Maruti Invicto is set to make its debut on July 5th, and as the launch date draws near, spy shots of the MPV without any camouflage have surfaced. Maruti Suzuki’s Invicto is a sibling of the Toyota Innova Hycross, sharing its platform, and the vehicle has already started arriving at Nexa dealerships. Bookings for the Invicto are open, requiring a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Key Highlights of Maruti Invicto:

1. Strong-Hybrid Powertrain

Maruti Invicto will exclusively feature a robust hybrid powertrain. This powertrain unites a 184hp, 2.0-liter Petrol engine with an electric motor and is linked to an e-CVT transmission. Notably, the Invicto will not offer a manual gearbox option, making it the first automatic-only product from Maruti Suzuki.

2. Badge-Engineered Version of Innova Hycross

The Maruti Invicto is essentially a badge-engineered variant of the Toyota Innova Hycross, built on the same platform. By leveraging the strengths of the Innova Hycross, Maruti aims to offer a compelling MPV option to its customers.

The latest images of the Invicto showcase its distinctive design elements. The MPV features a modified grille compared to the Hycross, with two bold chrome slats that extend into the headlights, accompanied by a unique mesh design. The headlights themselves sport Nexa’s signature three-block Daytime Running Lamps, providing a striking visual appeal. Additionally, the front bumper design is completely different, incorporating a new faux skid plate and omitting fog lamps.

In terms of profile, the Invicto distinguishes itself from the Innova Hycross through the use of distinct alloy wheels and the absence of plastic cladding on the wheel arches. The Invicto showcases a fresh alloy wheel design, which bears a resemblance to the ones found on the second-generation Baleno.

Moving to the rear, both MPVs share a near-identical appearance, with the only notable difference being Maruti’s three-block design for the tail-lights on the Invicto.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto Powertrain

Maruti Suzuki has opted to offer only a powerful hybrid powertrain for the Invicto. Combining the 184hp, 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor, this configuration ensures an optimal balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The powertrain is paired with an e-CVT gearbox, delivering smooth and seamless driving experience. It is worth mentioning that the absence of a manual gearbox option emphasizes the focus on convenience and ease of use.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto Rivals and Positioning

Production of the Invicto will take place at Toyota’s Bidadi plant, alongside the Innova Hycross, demonstrating the collaboration between the two manufacturers. With Kia discontinuing the Carnival MPV in India, the Invicto will primarily compete against its sibling, the Hycross. The pricing details of the Invicto will be officially announced on July 5th. As a reference, the Hycross hybrid is currently priced between Rs 25.03 lakh and Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

In conclusion, the Maruti Invicto is poised to make a strong impact in the Indian MPV market. With its attractive design, robust hybrid powertrain, and strategic positioning, it is set to become a popular choice among discerning customers. Stay tuned for the official launch and pricing announcement on July 5th.
