Mercedes-AMG SL 55 4MATIC+ Launched at Rs 2.35 Crore in India

Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled the highly-anticipated Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster in India, starting at an attractive price of Rs 2.35 crore (ex-showroom). This introduction of the seventh-generation SL model in the Indian market marks a significant milestone as it is the first time Mercedes-Benz has produced the entire car in Affalterbach. After a hiatus of twelve years, the SL model makes a comeback with its latest iteration. In this article, we will explore the exciting features, powertrain, and specifications that define this seventh-generation edition.

Powertrain of the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster

The Mercedes-AMG SL 55 has already gained recognition in the global market for its remarkable powertrain. This seventh iteration of the SL range is equipped with a robust 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering an impressive output of 469bhp and 700Nm of torque. Power is efficiently transmitted through a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. With an acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds from 0 to 100km/h, the AMG SL-55 Roadster offers exhilarating performance. Notably, it features Mercedes-Benz’s renowned 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system and boasts an electronically-limited top speed of 295km/h.

Exterior Features of the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster

The recently unveiled AMG SL 55 Roadster boasts an eye-catching exterior design. It showcases a distinctive Panamericana grille, a sleek air dam, stunning multi-spoke black alloy wheels, blacked-out ORVMs, sleek sweptback LED headlights, an adjustable spoiler, quad-tip exhausts, and captivating wraparound tail lights. Mercedes-Benz offers eight different paint choices to provide personalization options for the AMG SL-55 Roadster. Additionally, the seventh-generation SL model comes standard with 20-inch alloys, while customers have the option to upgrade to a distinctive 21-inch alloy design.

Dimensions of Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster

In the Indian market, the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster is available as a convertible with four seats. The incorporation of a soft-top roof, instead of a hard-top alternative, was a strategic decision by Mercedes-Benz to reduce weight by approximately 20kg. The soft top can be opened or closed in just 15 seconds, even while driving at speeds of up to 60km/h. The SL 55 Roadster measures 4,705mm in length, 1,915mm in width, and 1,359mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700mm.

Pricing Details of the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster

The Mercedes-AMG SL 55 has made its entry into the Indian market with an enticing introductory price of Rs 2.35 crore (ex-showroom). Mercedes-Benz also provides customization options for the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 4MATIC+. This exceptional roadster will undoubtedly compete with renowned models such as the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet and the Lexus LC 500h. Over the years, the SL has gained significant popularity among Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts in India, with each iteration capturing their hearts.
