MG Motor India is gearing up to introduce an exciting new variant of its popular electric vehicle, the MG Comet EV. The upcoming MG Comet Blackstorm Edition will be the brand’s first fully blacked-out EV, offering a bold and sporty aesthetic. A recently released teaser on the company’s social media platforms has confirmed the arrival of this edition, generating significant anticipation among electric car enthusiasts.
MG Comet Blackstorm: Bold Exterior with Striking Red Accents
Expected price: ₹8.5 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, India)
Retains the same mechanical specifications as the standard MG Comet EV
Features distinctive red highlights on the bonnet, wheels, and interior
The MG Comet Blackstorm Edition will follow the styling cues of the brand’s Blackstorm editions of the Hector and Astor SUVs. The teaser showcases a sleek black exterior enhanced by red highlights on the bonnet, wheel covers, and front bumper, giving the compact EV a sporty and aggressive look.

Interior Upgrades: Sporty Aesthetic with Premium Finishes
While the teaser does not provide a full view of the cabin, industry expectations suggest the interior will align with the Astor Blackstorm’s premium styling. The cabin is likely to feature black upholstery with red stitching, along with red accents on the AC vents and speakers. MG is also expected to include Blackstorm-specific badges and embroidery to reinforce the exclusivity of this special edition.
MG Comet Blackstorm Expected Price and Variants
MG Motor India has not yet disclosed the specific trims for the Comet Blackstorm Edition, but previous Blackstorm variants have typically been based on mid-spec models. The MG Comet EV is currently available in three trims:
Executive (₹7 lakh)
Excite (₹8.2 lakh)
Exclusive (₹9.84 lakh)
Considering the pricing structure of previous Blackstorm editions for the Astor and Hector, the MG Comet Blackstorm price is expected to start at ₹8.5 lakh, making it an attractive option for buyers looking for a stylish and feature-rich electric vehicle.

Performance: Same Efficient Electric Powertrain
Despite its visual upgrades, the MG Comet Blackstorm will retain the same mechanical setup as the standard model. It will be powered by a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack, paired with a 42hp, 110Nm electric motor. This setup delivers an MIDC-certified range of 230km, making it a practical and efficient urban commuter.
A Stylish Upgrade for the Urban EV Segment
The MG Comet Blackstorm Edition is set to bring a fresh and dynamic appeal to the electric vehicle market in India. With its bold blacked-out exterior, red highlights, and premium interior touches, it is poised to attract EV buyers looking for a sportier and more stylish option.
As MG Motor India continues to expand its EV lineup, the Blackstorm Edition could mark the beginning of more customized and exclusive offerings for its growing customer base. Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch date approaches!
