MG Motor India has begun production of the much-awaited MG Comet EV, the carmaker’s second electric model. The MG Comet EV will be unveiled in India on April 19 and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). With its unique design and advanced features, the MG Comet EV is set to compete with the likes of Tata Tiago.ev and Citroen e-C3 in the Indian market.
Based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform of SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), the MG Comet EV boasts of 17 hot stamping panels and a solid steel frame that offers superior strength to the vehicle body. The GSEV-based vehicles have already sold over a million units worldwide, and the MG Comet EV is expected to follow in their footsteps.

Design and Features
The dimensions of the three-door MG Comet EV are 2,974mm in length, 1,631mm in height, and 1,505mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,010mm. Although the car’s exterior may look unusual, the interior is equipped with advanced technological features.

MG Comet EV - Interior Features
Inside the MG Comet EV, you’ll find a twin-display set-up that includes a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the electric car boasts an Apple iPod-inspired twin-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, making it an ideal choice for long journeys.
MG Comet EV - Performance and Battery
The MG Comet EV is expected to be powered by a 50kW motor mated to a 25kWh battery. The vehicle’s range is expected to be between 250km and 300km on a single charge. The car’s battery can be charged up to 80% in just 50 minutes using a fast charger.

MG Comet EV - Price and Rivals
The MG Comet EV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with Tata Tiago.ev and Citroen e-C3 in the Indian market. With its unique design and advanced features, the MG Comet EV is poised to take the electric vehicle segment in India by storm.
