The third-generation Duster is expected to be launched in India by 2025, and it is set to be a major contender in the compact SUV segment. The upcoming SUV has been spied testing in Europe, and from the images, it appears that the new Duster will be significantly larger in size compared to the current model.

Design

The new Duster is likely to feature a heavily redesigned exterior with design cues taken from the Dacia Bigster concept. The spotted test mule features a larger body with a wider stance and a boxy design language that is reminiscent of traditional off-road vehicles. The SUV will also get flared wheel arches and squared-off contours, which give the side profile a more rugged appeal.

Powertrain

The test mule that was spotted in Europe is expected to be equipped with petrol-hybrid powertrain options, while the Indian market will most likely receive both petrol and diesel engine options for the new Duster. This model will be built on the heavily localized CMF-B modular platform, which will enable Renault to offer various body styles and engine options.

Furthermore, the CMF-B platform has an electric version called the CMF-B EV architecture, which will allow the Renault-Nissan alliance to manufacture electric vehicles locally in the future. The front-wheel-drive setup will be offered for the lower-end variants of the Duster, whereas the higher-end variants will come with an all-wheel-drive system.
