Shelby American has once again revived the legendary Shelby GT350, introducing an all-new high-performance muscle car that combines raw power with cutting-edge engineering. The latest GT350 and its track-focused variant, the GT350R, pack a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine delivering an astounding 810 and over 830 horsepower, respectively.
A New Era of Performance: GT350 and GT350R
The new Shelby GT350 isn’t a Ford factory model but a creation from Shelby American, a direct descendant of Carroll Shelby’s iconic performance shop. Despite this distinction, the GT350 retains Ford’s powertrain warranty and will be sold through select Ford dealerships. With a starting price of $109,999, the supercharged GT350 offers modern engineering while staying true to classic Shelby heritage.

Heart-Pounding Power Under the Hood
At the core of the new GT350 is a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine, a massive upgrade from the 500-horsepower Mustang Dark Horse to an astonishing 810 horsepower. This is a major departure from the discontinued naturally aspirated flat-plane-crank 5.2-liter Voodoo engine that once delivered 526 horsepower.
For enthusiasts looking for a slightly tamer ride, Shelby American also offers a naturally aspirated GT350 variant, boasting 480 horsepower without forced induction. Buyers can opt for a manual or automatic transmission, catering to different driving preferences.

Aggressive Styling and Advanced Aerodynamics
The Shelby GT350 flaunts an aggressive and track-ready design. Key features include:
- Redesigned front fascia with larger intakes and grilles.
- A prominent rear wing for enhanced downforce.
- Upgraded suspension and exhaust system.
- Aerodynamic enhancements for improved performance.

GT350R: The Ultimate Track-Ready Machine
For those craving an uncompromised track experience, the GT350R takes things to another level. With over 830 horsepower, this beast features a six-speed manual transmission, carbon-fiber components, and a host of race-inspired features, including:
- Carbon-Fiber Interior Tub: Boosts rigidity while shedding weight.
- Optional Racing Seats with Harnesses: Ensures maximum support during high-speed maneuvers.
- Integrated Roll Cage: Provides added safety and structural integrity.
- Adjustable Track Suspension: Tailored for different track conditions.
- Upgraded Braking System: Offers exceptional stopping power.
Several of the GT350R’s components are expected to feature in an upcoming Trans Am-spec race car set to debut in the 2026 season.

Limited Production and Exclusive Availability
Shelby American plans to produce only 562 units of the GT350 for 2025, echoing the original 1965 production numbers. Each unit will be available through authorized Ford dealerships and includes a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.
The track-focused GT350R will be even rarer, with only 36 units to be built by Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports in Michigan. Each GT350R will feature a signature white paint job with customizable stripe and graphics packages.
The Legacy Continues
With the resurrection of the Shelby GT350, Shelby American continues to honor Carroll Shelby’s vision by delivering jaw-dropping performance, bold design, and modern engineering. Whether you’re searching for a street-dominating muscle car or a track-oriented beast, the GT350 lineup offers the best of both worlds.
Get ready to experience the sheer power and iconic heritage of Shelby American’s latest masterpiece as it tears up the roads and tracks in 2025.
