Tata has recently launched the CNG variant of its premium hatchback, Altroz, which is expected to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20. With the CNG variant, Tata has tried to address the concerns of eco-friendliness, while ensuring the performance and comfort of the car are not compromised. In this article, we will take a closer look at the features and specifications of each variant of Tata Altroz CNG.

Tata Altroz CNG Specifications
The Altroz CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which churns out 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque in CNG mode. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. However, the biggest highlight of the Altroz CNG is its dual-tank layout, which has allowed Tata to offer a boot space of 210 litres, a lot more than what its rivals offer.

Tata Altroz CNG Variants
The Tata Altroz CNG is available in six variants: XE, XM+, XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S). Let’s take a closer look at what each variant has to offer.
Tata Altroz CNG XE Variant
The base-spec XE variant comes with halogen headlamps, 14-inch steel wheels and fabric upholstery. While it misses out on features like an infotainment system and automatic climate control, it gets safety features like driver and passenger airbags, corner stability control, and ISOFIX anchors.

Tata Altroz CNG XM+ Variant
With the XM+ variant, Tata has added a host of features such as 16-inch steel wheels with covers, a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. These feature additions make the XM+ variant more suitable for base-spec buyers.

Tata Altroz CNG XM+ (S) Variant
The XM+ (S) variant adds a sunroof, which is not even offered on the petrol/diesel-powered version of the hatchback. Apart from this, the variant also gets automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

Tata Altroz CNG XZ Variant
The XZ variant comes with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, mood lighting, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, and a rearview camera. It also features a rear wiper with washer, rear defogger, and height-adjustable front seatbelts.
Tata Altroz CNG XZ+ (S) Variant
The XZ+ (S) variant gets a sunroof, and a 7-inch infotainment system with four speakers and two tweeters. It also features front and rear USB charging, a cooled glovebox, and front sliding armrest with storage.

Tata Altroz CNG XZ+ O (S) Variant
The top-spec XZ+ O (S) variant comes with leatherette seats, an iRA-connected car technology, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a rear armrest with cupholders. It also gets additional safety features like six airbags, electronic stability control, and hill hold control.

The Tata Altroz CNG is a feature-packed and eco-friendly car that offers great value for money. The dual-tank layout has allowed Tata to offer a spacious boot, which is a rarity in CNG vehicles. With its competitive pricing and impressive features, the Altroz CNG is set to give tough competition to its rivals in the segment.
