Tata Motors, the leading Indian automaker, has achieved another milestone with the production of the 2,00,000th Tata Punch from its Pune plant. In just 19 months, the company has rolled out 2,00,000 units, with 1,97,389 units sold between the launch and April 2023. The SUV has set a new record in the compact SUV segment, with monthly sales averaging at 10,388 units. The Tata Punch has proven to be a sales success, as it competes with the likes of the Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Citroen C3.
Tata Punch Powertrains
The Tata Punch comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 88PS and 115Nm of torque. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The micro SUV also has two drive modes, Eco and City. Tata is also planning to offer CNG variants of the Punch, which will likely have a reduced output of 73.5PS/103Nm and paired with only the manual gearbox.

The Tata Punch is equipped with several premium features that provide comfort, convenience and safety to passengers. It comes with a 7-inch touchscreen system, auto AC, rain-sensing wipers, connected car tech, a semi-digital instrument cluster and cruise control. In terms of safety, it offers dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a reversing camera, and rear parking sensors.

The Tata Punch is offered in four main variants: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative. Additionally, there are several feature packs and special editions available. The Punch’s price ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.52 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
