The demand for SUVs in the passenger vehicle (PV) market continued its upward trend in April 2023. The SUV segment dominated the market, with more than 157,000 units dispatched to dealerships by OEMs, resulting in a market share of over 47%. This is a 4% increase from the previous fiscal year.
The PV market recorded a significant increase of 13% in April 2023, selling 331,747 units compared to the same month in the previous year. Industry experts predict that the market share for SUVs could continue to rise and plateau at around 48-49%.
