Volkswagen ID Every1 Exterior Design and Dimensions

Near-Production Design with Classic Influences

Volkswagen confirms that the production version of the ID Every1 will remain largely true to this concept’s design. The hatchback’s proportions echo the beloved Volkswagen Up, while the front fascia features a sleek blacked-out faux grille, large LED headlights, and a contrasting black trim on the bumper, giving it a cheerful and approachable look.

Vertical LED daytime running lights (DRLs) further enhance its modern appeal. The A-pillars are blacked-out, creating a wraparound windshield effect. The side profile is minimalist, with subtle sculpting around the wheel arches and a focus on clean, timeless styling. The vehicle also includes flush door handles and rides on 19-inch wheels.

Volkswagen has drawn inspiration from the first-generation Golf for the C-pillar design, reinforcing a sense of nostalgia combined with innovation.

Compact but Spacious

At 3,880 mm in length, the ID Every1 is slightly smaller than the 4,050 mm ID 2all concept. While the two models share similarities up to the A-pillars, the ID Every1 features a shorter wheelbase and a smaller battery, making it a more compact alternative in Volkswagen’s EV lineup.

  • A blanked-off front grille for improved aerodynamics.
  • Vertically stacked headlamps and distinctive L-shaped LED DRLs and taillights.
  • LED light bars on both ends for a futuristic appeal.
  • Aero-optimized 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with Low Rolling Resistance tyres.
  • Active Air Flaps that enhance aerodynamic efficiency.

Volkswagen ID Every1 Interior and Features

Minimalist Yet Functional Cabin

Like many modern electric vehicles, the ID Every1 adopts a minimalist interior layout. A large floating infotainment screen dominates the dashboard, but Volkswagen has wisely retained physical buttons for essential controls such as temperature adjustment, heating, and volume.

Other notable features include a new two-spoke squared-off steering wheel, air vents that mirror the headlamp design, and a center console mounted on rails, allowing it to slide between the front and rear seating areas. The cabin also incorporates a removable Bluetooth speaker positioned between the driver and passenger seats. For added convenience, the front passenger seat includes a variable multi-purpose panel capable of holding a tablet or shelf.

Volkswagen has designed the ID Every1 as a four-seater, prioritizing comfort and space optimization over additional seating.

Advanced Software-Defined Vehicle Architecture

One of the most significant advancements in the ID Every1 is its software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture. Developed through a joint venture with American EV startup Rivian, this system offers a modular structure that can be customized according to the model. The base version of the ID Every1 features a streamlined software setup, while more premium Volkswagen models will include expanded functionalities.

The architecture supports over-the-air updates, allowing Volkswagen to introduce new features and enhancements even after the vehicle has been delivered. This means owners can unlock additional capabilities as needed, making the car more adaptable over time.

Volkswagen ID Every1 Platform, Battery, and Range

Built on the MEB Entry Platform

The ID Every1 is built on a modified version of Volkswagen’s front-wheel-drive MEB Entry platform, designed specifically for affordable EVs. While detailed technical specifications are yet to be revealed, Volkswagen has confirmed that the vehicle will be powered by a newly developed electric motor producing 95 hp. This setup enables the car to reach a top speed of 130 km/h.

Battery and Expected Range

Volkswagen has not yet disclosed the exact battery capacity or chemistry used in the ID Every1. However, the automaker claims the EV will offer a minimum driving range of 250 km on a full charge, making it an ideal urban commuter car.

Volkswagen’s Vision for the Future

The ID Every1 is just the beginning of Volkswagen’s ambitious plans for its Electric Urban Car Family. The company has announced that the next model in this lineup, the ID 2 X crossover, will likely be unveiled at the Munich Motor Show in September.

As Volkswagen continues to expand its affordable EV offerings, the ID Every1 is poised to play a crucial role in making electric mobility more accessible to European consumers. With its efficient design, smart features, and budget-friendly approach, this model aims to set a new standard for entry-level electric vehicles.

Stay tuned for more updates as Volkswagen moves closer to launching its most affordable electric car yet!
