Yamaha enthusiasts in India have reason to celebrate as the company has significantly reduced the prices of the YZF-R3 and MT-03. With a price cut of up to Rs 1.10 lakh, these premium motorcycles are now more accessible to riders looking for performance, style, and reliability.
Variants and New Prices Make Yamaha’s 300cc Lineup More Competitive
As of February 1, 2025, the new ex-showroom prices for these bikes are:
- Yamaha YZF-R3 – Rs 3,59,900
- Yamaha MT-03 – Rs 3,49,900
This substantial price reduction brings Yamaha’s 300cc models closer in affordability to their competitors, making them an attractive option for riders upgrading from smaller displacement motorcycles like the YZF-R15 or MT-15.

No Mechanical Changes – Same High-Performance Engineering
While the price has been reduced, both the YZF-R3 and MT-03 retain their original mechanical configurations. Yamaha has made no changes to the design, features, or engine specifications. Both motorcycles continue to be powered by a 321cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 41.42 bhp and 29.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox for a smooth and responsive riding experience.
Premium Features That Enhance Performance and Comfort
Both the YZF-R3 and MT-03 come equipped with advanced features that ensure a superior riding experience:
- Upside-down (USD) front forks for enhanced stability and handling
- Preload-adjustable monoshock for a comfortable ride
- Dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety and confident braking
- Sleek and aerodynamic design for a sporty appeal

Color Options for a Stylish Ride
Yamaha offers these motorcycles in attractive color schemes to suit different rider preferences:
- YZF-R3: Available in Icon Blue and Yamaha Black
- MT-03: Comes in Midnight Cyan and Midnight Black
A Strategic Move to Boost Sales and Market Appeal
The initial high pricing of the YZF-R3 and MT-03 had limited their sales, as riders found the price gap too significant compared to Yamaha’s smaller models. By lowering the prices, Yamaha India aims to attract more buyers and strengthen its position in the competitive 300cc segment.

Yamaha Delivers More Value for Money
With this significant price revision, Yamaha has made the YZF-R3 and MT-03 more appealing to motorcycle enthusiasts. Whether you prefer the fully-faired aggression of the YZF-R3 or the naked streetfighter aesthetics of the MT-03, both models now offer better value without compromising on performance or quality.
If you’ve been considering upgrading to a 300cc Yamaha, now is the perfect time to make your move!
